Locals in Cumbria were shocked after a spiky, prehistoric-looking turtle was spotted in Urswick Tarns. Nicknamed “Fluffy,” the creature turned out to be a juvenile alligator snapping turtle — a powerful U.S. species with a bite strong enough to sever fingers.
Rescued by local councillor Denise Chamberlain, the invasive reptile posed a serious threat to the lake’s fragile ecosystem. It’s now safe at Wild Side Vets, who urge pet owners: don’t abandon exotic animals.
Fluffy may look like a dinosaur — but he’s now a viral star with a very ironic name!
