Walz Responds Amid Reports Of Shooting At Catholic School

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz confirmed a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in south Minneapolis, where multiple children and staff were targeted during their first week of school. Police said the shooter is deceased and there is no ongoing threat. Families were directed to a reunification site, while agencies including the FBI, State Patrol, and Minneapolis police responded. Reports indicate several casualties after up to 50 shots were fired.

President Trump and Homeland Security officials have been briefed and are monitoring the situation. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey activated the city’s emergency response and described the attack as “horrific violence,” emphasizing support for victims and urging the public to avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to work.
