The two young victims of Wednesday’s Minneapolis Catholic school shooting have been identified as 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski.
Fletcher’s grieving father called the shooter a “coward” and urged parents to “give your kids an extra hug and kiss today,” remembering his son as a boy full of love and promise. Harper’s family described her as a “bright, joyful and deeply-loved child” and said their “hearts are shattered.” They are now calling for action on gun violence so her story is not repeated.
