Border Patrol Finds 3,000-Foot ‘Drug Tunnel’ Near San Diego

U.S. Border Patrol uncovered a nearly 3,000-foot drug-smuggling tunnel from Tijuana, Mexico, to a warehouse in Otay Mesa, California. Still under construction, the sophisticated tunnel featured lighting, ventilation, and a rail system, and is believed to be the work of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Authorities sealed the passage, the latest of 95 discovered in the San Diego area since 1993. The bust comes as Trump’s administration prepares for mass deportations and a crackdown on illegal crossings, with incoming border czar Thomas Homan promising “shock and awe” on day one.
