A QUIET TALENT WHO LEFT A LASTING MARK

Actor Devin Harjes, known for his soulful roles in Boardwalk Empire, Daredevil, and Orange Is the New Black, passed away on May 27 in New York City after a brief battle with cancer. He was 41.

Harjes wasn’t a household name, but his performances carried a depth that left lasting impressions. Raised in West Texas and later thriving in New York’s theater scene, he brought gritty realism to every role—from Jack Dempsey on Boardwalk Empire to vulnerable characters on stage and screen.

Beyond acting, Harjes was a martial artist, animal lover, and man of quiet strength. He is survived by his cat Maude, ex-wife Shiva Shobitha, and his close-knit family.

He didn’t chase fame—but through authenticity, compassion, and craft, Devin Harjes made his mark. His legacy lives on in the roles he brought to life and the hearts he touched.
