SUPREME COURT TO DECIDE FUTURE OF BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP IN EXPLOSIVE CASE SPARKED BY TRUMP ORDER

In a bombshell move, President Trump signed an executive order on his first day back in office aiming to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants. The order challenges a century-old interpretation of the 14th Amendment, claiming only those born to parents “subject to the jurisdiction” of the U.S. qualify as citizens.

Legal backlash was immediate, with federal courts blocking the order and appellate courts upholding those rulings. But the Trump administration pushed back, and now the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case, signaling its monumental stakes.

Critics warn the policy could render U.S.-born children stateless, while supporters say it restores original constitutional intent. Oral arguments are set for May 15, and the Court’s decision could redefine what it means to be an American—for generations to come.
