Pilot Partially Sucked Out of Plane – Survives Against All Odds

In 1990, British Airways pilot Tim Lancaster was partially sucked out of the cockpit at 17,000 feet when the windshield blew off mid-flight. Flight attendant Nigel Ogden held onto his legs for 20 minutes despite freezing temperatures and injuries, with help from Simon Rogers. Co-pilot Alastair Atchison managed to land the plane safely in Southampton.

Lancaster survived with frostbite and fractures. The incident, later featured on Mayday, remains a powerful example of crew bravery, human resilience, and aircraft durability.
