Three young girls were found alive inside a hollow oak tree, 10 days after disappearing during the Texas flood near Camp Wrenwood. The girls, aged 8–10, survived on rainwater and remembered a pre-camp safety drill that helped them stay calm and sheltered.
Discovered by chance after a faint cry was heard, the girls were dehydrated and scratched but otherwise safe. Their story has touched the nation, with many calling them symbols of hope and resilience.
