A Democrat whistleblower has accused Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) of authorizing leaks of classified intelligence during the Trump–Russia investigation to damage Donald Trump. Newly declassified FBI reports back the claims, which, if proven, could bring Schiff massive fines, prison time of up to 20 years, and career-ending consequences.
The whistleblower says Schiff promised staff leaks would stay hidden and even expected a CIA post under Hillary Clinton. He also identified Rep. Eric Swalwell as a conduit for leaks and claims he was fired after alerting the FBI, which allegedly ignored him. Schiff has not publicly responded, though he has previously denied such allegations.
