Judge Tosses Lawsuit Aimed at Hiding Names of FBI Agents Involved in Jan. 6 Investigations

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit aimed at blocking the release of FBI agents’ names tied to Jan. 6 investigations, ruling there’s no evidence their identities are about to be exposed. The case stemmed from concerns that agents could face retaliation, but the court accepted government assurances that disclosure isn’t imminent.

Attorneys for the FBI Agents Association vowed to return to court if that changes. Meanwhile, the FBI announced it dismantled a major Chinese espionage ring, part of nearly 5,000 active counterintelligence cases this year.
