Luke Goodwin, a 35-year-old YouTuber from Grimsby, died of cancer on August 2 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his channel I Will Not Be Defeated, Luke shared his battle with fourth-stage leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that forms in smooth muscles and accounts for only 0.17% of cases each year. Diagnosed in August 2022 and initially given about a year to live, he surpassed expectations through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, often joking with fans that he was still “alive and kicking.”
His family called him a “warrior” and a “hero.” Luke is survived by his wife Beckey, mother Lisa, father Brian, and two daughters, including three-year-old Scarlett. Despite the odds, he continued inspiring people worldwide with his story, showing remarkable courage and resilience until his passing.
