Fears of a serial killer arose in Houston after a sixth body was found in a bayou in just over a week. So far, 15 bodies have been recovered from Buffalo Bayou this year, with five discovered in the last 10 days. The latest victim, a woman near the University of Houston, has not been identified.
Authorities say there’s no evidence linking the deaths, noting many bodies come from homeless encampments or accidents in the flood-prone bayous. One identified victim, 20-year-old Jade McKissic, was found four days after going missing. Despite social media fears, police and the mayor stress that each case is under investigation and no foul play has been confirmed.
