HOLINESS WITH A WICKED SENSE OF HUMOR

As the plane touched down, the priest smiled to himself, still amused by the woman’s desperate plea for help. True to his word, he hadn’t lied — not even once. His peculiar phrasing at customs had drawn laughter instead of suspicion, and the hidden “contraband” passed through without issue. When the woman met him at baggage claim, her face was pale with worry. “Did they search you?” she whispered.

He handed her the package with a kind smile. “No, my child. Honesty is always the best disguise.” The woman burst out laughing, realizing how cleverly the priest had navigated her deceit without sinning. As she thanked him profusely, the priest merely nodded and walked away, robe swaying with quiet dignity. Even in the most awkward of favors, truth had found its own witty way to win.
