President Donald Trump’s decision to federalize Memphis has produced dramatic results in just weeks. After deploying the National Guard and uniting the FBI, ATF, and DOJ under a joint task force, the city has seen crime rates plunge across nearly every category. Since the operation began on September 29, authorities have arrested over 2,200 suspects, seized nearly 400 firearms, and rescued 97 missing children. Murder is down by more than 50%, robberies by 65%, and motor vehicle thefts have fallen a stunning 79%.
Attorney General Pam Bondi praised the results, saying, “Memphis is safer thanks to President Trump’s federal surge.” Over 1,600 federal agents from 31 agencies continue to operate across the city, backed by additional National Guard support. While troops aren’t making arrests, they’re reinforcing law enforcement’s presence and helping restore stability. The success in Memphis follows Trump’s earlier D.C. operation — and signals his administration’s ongoing push to reassert “law and order” nationwide.
