That morning began like any other, with calm streets and a soft breeze moving between the houses. But within minutes, something strange swept through the town — a sudden silence that muted everything at once. Birds stopped singing, dogs went quiet, and even the steady hum of traffic seemed to vanish. People stepped outside in confusion, feeling a faint vibration under their feet as phones froze and radios cut to static. Then a pale, shimmerding glow rose above the hills, swaying like a curtain of light across the sky. It wasn’t lightning or fire, and it didn’t behave like anything people had seen before. The glow lasted only a few minutes, but it left the entire town standing still, watching in uneasy silence.
