Schiff Blames 2024 Loss on Democrats’ Failure to Tackle Cost of Living

During a recent appearance on ABC News, Senator Adam Schiff acknowledged that the Democratic Party’s loss in the 2024 elections was due in large part to failing to stay “laser focused” on the high cost of living. Schiff criticized party leadership for not offering clear solutions to inflation and rising expenses—issues that deeply impacted voters.

Schiff pointed out that President Biden’s State of the Union address lacked concrete plans to ease everyday costs like housing, health care, and child care. He warned that downplaying inflation—peaking at 9% in 2022—allowed Republicans to dominate the economic narrative.

With affordability top of mind for voters, Schiff urged Democrats to shift their strategy and prioritize real, actionable policies over abstract messaging. His comments serve as a call for greater accountability and a stronger focus on economic realities ahead of future elections.
