Karma is at work: Despite my exclusion from the potluck, my sibling received her just desserts.

My sister-in-law Jessica threw a luxury-themed potluck and demanded everyone bring gourmet items. My husband and I were struggling financially, so I made a homemade casserole. She mocked it—and me—and told me to leave. I was humiliated.

The next morning, I got a call: the potluck had been a disaster. The fridge was unplugged, and all the expensive food spoiled. Guests left early, and Jessica was left red-faced. Turns out, my simple casserole could’ve saved the night. Karma served the real dish.
