A New Life and a Shocking Diagnosis: Giving Birth Just Hours After Learning of Lung Cancer

In a heartfelt social media post, Fox News contributor Kat Timpf shared that she was diagnosed with Stage 0 lung cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child. What began as a routine pre-labor checkup turned into a life-changing day when doctors discovered a small lesion in her lung. Timpf gave birth to a healthy baby boy shortly after receiving the diagnosis.

The cancer—non–small cell and caught at Stage 0—is highly treatable and hasn’t spread. She will undergo a minimally invasive lobectomy after recovering from childbirth. Known for her humor, Timpf used wit to navigate the emotional roller coaster, saying she was “delivering a baby and a biopsy report.”

Support poured in from colleagues and fans alike, with Timpf using the moment to raise awareness about early detection and the importance of screening. Now home with her newborn, she’s balancing motherhood, cancer treatment, and a new role as a lung cancer advocate.
